Halo 5 Guardians

At the 2013 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), Microsoft announced a new, then-untitled addition to the Halo series, along with a trailer appearing to depict a post-Halo 4 Master Chief.[5] After E3, Microsoft Studios corporate vice president Phil Spencer said that the “Reclaimer Trilogy” had been expanded into a longer series of games, saying they “[didn’t] want to limit the Reclaimer story within a trilogy.”[6] Bonnie Ross of 343 Industries confirmed the game’s Halo 5: Guardians title and 2015 release date in a May 2014 blog post.[7] The game will be exclusive to the Xbox One and run at 60 frames per second (FPS).[8] On the departure from the Xbox 360 hardware, Ross noted that the Xbox One allows 343 Industries to broaden the game’s scope and utilize the console’s dedicated servers.[9] Franchise development director Frank O’Connor explained that Halo 4 pushed its game engine to the limit, such that moving on to the Xbox One called for the development of a new game engine.[10]

A Halo television series is being produced by Steven Spielberg, set to air in 2015 in conjunction with the game’s launch.Showtime is in negotiations to air the series.[11]

Halo: The Master Chief Collection gave players exclusive access to Halo 5‍‍ ’‍s multiplayer beta,[12] which began December 29, 2014, and ran through January 18, 2015.[13]

Malaysian F3 Racer

The 18-year-old became the first Malaysian driver to win a race at the historic Monza Circuit in Italy when he clinched a double victory in the first round of the Formula 3 Remus Championship.

The Performance Racing Team driver did not have a good start in Sunday’s Race 1. Starting from pole position, he dropped a few places after his car almost stalled but he managed to fight his way back to win by a comfortable margin.

He won the 15-lap race in 27:05.383 ahead of Italian Marco Zanasi (27:32.119) and Austrian Christopher Hoher (27:36.780).

Akash began Race 2 on Monday under the reversed grid format. From 12th position, he managed to fight his way up to take the chequered flag in 26:58.479. Hoher clocked 27:15.531 for second place while Zanasi crossed the finish line third in 27:32.648.

This season’s Formula 3 has a 30-driver field with a total of seven rounds. Former Formula 1 world champions Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher competed in the series earlier in their careers.

Akash was delighted to start his season with a bang.

“I made a slight mistake at the start of Race 1. I dropped to seventh, but I remained composed as I knew I had very good pace.

“I am really pleased to begin my European career this way and with such a great team behind me,” said Akash.

Akash first made his name in the Formula Masters China. He scored four wins en route to third overall in 2013. He also created history by becoming the youngest driver at 16 to win the Macau Grand Prix, the final round of the championships.

Akash, who started his motor racing career as a go-karter at the age of eight, had a quiet year last season as he enrolled for a business management course at the University of Roehampton in the United Kingdom

Halo Spartan Strike

he Halo series might be most closely associated with the three Xbox consoles, but it has a long history of dabbling with other platforms before the recent iOS debut of Halo: Spartan Strike and Spartan Assault.

In fact, it wasn’t until Halo 3 in 2007 that the franchise was locked down as an Xbox console exclusive, a status then retained for seven years on the trot.

Series opener Halo: Combat Evolved was at concept a Mac and Windows game, and though it debuted on Xbox in 2001 as a hugely successful system-seller, it arrived on the two computer platforms by 2003’s end.

And while Mac was dropped for Halo 2, Microsoft’s own Windows OS retained a slice of the pie, albeit 2.5 years after the Xbox game first arrived.

It took another 11 years to return to Apple platforms with a double release of Halo: Spartan Assault and Halo: Spartan Strike on iOS.

Outside of games, universe-expanding novelizations had been available since Halobegan, but the games’ rising value led to more extravagant marketing budgets and a number of other transmedia exercises.

For example, Halo 2 viral marketing campaign “I Love Bees” became legendary, setting up a chase to track down public payphones and receive calls at predetermined times.

More widespread were live-action shorts preceding Halo 3 (2007), Halo 3: ODST(2009) and Reach (2010) as well as the latter’s anime project Halo Legends.

Those built a platform for a more ambitious Halo 4 campaign in 2012: miniseriesForward Until Dawn was a webisodic sci-fi drama, and Ridley Scott-produced Halo: Nightfall helped push remastering effort Halo: The Master Chief Collection in 2014.

But 2013’s Halo: Spartan Assault was the most radical departure, swapping first-person perspective for a very different top-down, twin-stick style far better suited to lower-powered devices, and given six months’ exclusivity on Windows Phones and the Windows 8 Store before migrating to Xbox One and then the older Xbox 360.

Though follow-up Halo: Spartan Strike was delayed from December 2014 to April 2015, it now looks like provident timing, ensuring a day-and-date release across the Windows Store, Windows Phone, and iOS, available separately or in a bundle together with its predecessor.

Following iOS versions of Office and Outlook, the Halo: Spartan titles reinforce a different Microsoft approach that sees the tech giant look for opportunities on rival mobile platforms as well as its own.

Happy Hamilton In No Rush To Sign New Mercedes Deal

SHANGHAI (Reuters) – Lewis Hamilton has agreed a deal in principle to remain at Mercedes beyond this season but the Formula One world champion is in no hurry to put pen to paper on a new contract, the Briton told reporters ahead of this week’s Chinese Grand Prix.

Hamilton moved to Mercedes in 2013 but is out of contract at the end of the season and negotiations to extend his stay with the German team have become protracted with the 30-year-old’s future plans the subject of much discussion around the paddock.

“The situation is not really different from the last time I saw you,” Hamilton said at a chilly Shanghai International Circuit on Thursday when asked about the progress of his contract talks.

“There’s still points to be agreed on, it’s just back and forth.”

Following the Malaysian Grand Prix on March 29, Hamilton told British reporters that a new contract should be finalised within a week.

However, Hamilton, who is negotiating the deal himself, said he had been unable to find time to go through the finer points of a revised deal with the team where he won his second world title.

“The last week I haven’t really been doing too much contract reading,” Hamilton added.

“I don’t really feel particularly rushed. I think we’ve agreed that we want to stay together. I’ve got the rest of the year if I want to take that but obviously we’ll get it done at some stage.”

COOLER CONDITIONS

The Briton, who won his first title with McLaren in 2008, is one of the three highest-paid drivers in the series with Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel and McLaren’s Fernando Alonso estimated to be on similar salaries to Hamilton.

Some reports have pegged Hamilton’s new deal at more than $40 million and when asked whether he would like to be the highest-paid Mercedes employee, earning even more than Daimler chief executive Dieter Zetsche, he said: “I don’t really know what to say to that. Drivers generally do earn more than that.”

Hamilton heads into this weekend’s race at the top of the standings. He won the season-opening Australian Grand Prix but was beaten by Vettel in Malaysia, with the German scoring a shock victory to snap Mercedes’ eight-race winning streak.

Searing track temperatures severely hampered his Mercedes in Malaysia and Hamilton said he was confident of enjoying a better weekend in the cooler conditions in China.

“They were very, very quick, they did a great job,” Hamilton said of Ferrari’s form in Malaysia.

“We could have done a better job in terms of looking after our tyres, we could have maybe (gone) even a little bit faster.

“We’re not stressed or anything. We didn’t have the most amazing weekend and I think we’ll be stronger this time.”
